Positive Deviance Hearth Orientation Workshop in Ventiane, Laos

From July 25-29, 2011, Monique Sternin facilitated a Positive Deviance Hearth Orientation Workshop in Ventiane, Laos which was funded by World Vision Canada. The objective of this workshop was to orient participants to the PD/Hearth Model. Participants learned how to distinguish where PD/H is appropriate, describe implementation steps for PD Hearth and essential elements for effective programming, describe the use of monitoring tools to assure quality implementation at community level, identify factors and underlying principles which assure effectiveness of PD/Hearth, articulate how PD/Hearth can be integrated with other ADP Programs/sectors, and describe how the 7-11 package, including PD Hearth, to change community norms around IYCF and child care.To read more about the workshop and see photos from the event, click here.
